FitLinxx enters consumer market with tracker built on accuracy and comfort

A device as small and offering the same level of comfort as a plaster will allow users to accurately track their heart rate and activity.

The ‘AmpStrip’ is FitLinxx’s first foray into the consumer product market and has already won recognition at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) as a 2015 Best of Innovation Honoree for outstanding design and engineering, judged by a panel of independent industrial designers, independent engineers and members of the trade media.

Thin, waterproof and filled with sensors, AmpStrip has been designed to be worn comfortably every day. Using hypoallergenicdical-grade adhesives, it sticks discreetly to the user’s torso to automatically and continuously track heart rate, activity, respiration, body temperature and posture, functioning not only in workouts but also during rest, recovery and sleep.

The data, which is streamed wirelessly in real-time and is also held in the device’s memory, can be used to inform users of how they are performing and where their body is in the stress-recovery cycle of training, potentially facilitating improvements in the type and intensity of each day’s workout.

“AmpStrip is the first of its kind heart and activity tracking monitor outpacing existing products with significantly more accurate data and comfortable 24/7 wear before, during and after exercise,” said Dave Monahan, president and CEO of FitLinxx. “Fitness enthusiasts can lose the chest strap and wristband, staying focused on improving performance.”

FitLinxx, a provider of enterprise health and fitness technology for more than twenty years, will showcase the AmpStrip at CES in January, with consumer launch scheduled for the second quarter of 2015.
